Careers at Heritage
Work on real US accounts from day one.
Heritage is a small firm, but the work is not small.
Our professionals work on live accounting, tax, reporting, audit-support, transaction and automation assignments for US clients.
You are expected to learn the work, understand why it matters and become capable of owning more of it over time.
What we stand for
A small firm doing serious work.
Five things we expect from ourselves.
- 01
Learn the client's process.
The objective is not to complete a task in isolation. It is to understand where that task sits in the client's workflow.
- 02
Ask when something does not make sense.
Good finance work is not produced by guessing.
If an account does not reconcile, an instruction is unclear or a number looks wrong, we expect people to investigate and raise it.
- 03
Make your work reviewable.
Someone else should be able to understand what you did, what you used and what remains outstanding.
- 04
Use technology intelligently.
We use software and automation to reduce repetitive work. We do not use technology as a substitute for understanding accounting.
- 05
Take responsibility as you grow.
As your technical ability develops, so does the amount of work you are trusted to own.
Learn out loud.
You will work with people who know the technical requirements of US accounting and tax and who expect you to keep developing.
That means:
- Learning through live client work
- Receiving direct review and feedback
- Building technical knowledge alongside practical judgment
- Working across different client situations
- Developing familiarity with US accounting and tax processes
- Learning the tools used by modern finance teams
- Taking recognized professional qualifications seriously
You do not need to know everything before you join.
You do need to be willing to learn.
Tools are ours to use.
Technology should make finance work better, not simply make it look more modern.
You will work with the systems required by the client and the engagement, including accounting, tax, reporting, practice-management and automation tools.
We expect people to understand both sides:
- How the tool works.
- Why the underlying finance work matters.
Growth
From your first return to running an account.

- 01
Associate
Build technical foundations through supervised client work.
You will learn the systems, processes and standards used across the practice.
- 02
Senior Associate
Take ownership of defined workstreams, communicate directly with reviewers and help improve recurring processes.
- 03
Manager
Own client delivery, manage workflows and review work produced by the team.
The progression is not simply about title.
It is about the amount and complexity of work you can be trusted to own.
What we put behind you.
- Structured onboarding
- Access to experienced reviewers
- Technical training
- Exposure to US accounting and tax work
- Professional qualification support where applicable
- Experience across multiple finance disciplines
